My full name is Syed Muhammad Rehan-ul-Hassan Gelani, though I simplify it to Rehan Gelani for practical purposes. I was born in Attock, Pakistan, into a family renowned for its religious and spiritual values. My father, Syed Shakir-ul-Qadri Chishti Nizami, is widely respected for his religious, scholarly, and literary contributions. My grandfather, Khwaja Syed Suleman Al-Qadri Chishti Nizami, was a spiritual guide and a man of great piety. I have two brothers, Syed Muhammad Faizan-ul-Hasan Gelani and Syed Muhammad Abuzar Gelani, and a sister, Syeda Qurat-ul-Ain Tahira Gelani. After completing my matriculation exams, I decided to pursue religious education to fulfill my father’s wish, a journey that continues to this day.
I have earned the highest academic distinctions in Islamic Studies, yet I still consider myself a lifelong student—and rightly so. I am ever conscious of how little I truly know, for knowledge, especially the knowledge of religion, is like an infinite ocean. To cross it is beyond imagination, and even diving into its depths is a rare blessing. For now, I find myself standing at the shore, awestruck and humbled. Perhaps I have not even dipped my hands and feet into its waters yet. However, I do feel fortunate to experience the breeze that carries the scent of its waves.
The truth is, I don’t even know who I truly am. Perhaps the essence of knowledge lies in seeking the answer to this very question. I believe that the primary purpose of my pursuit of knowledge should be to uncover this reality. Self-awareness is the path that leads to true knowledge, and I am on this journey of discovery.
If you know the answer, I implore you to share it with me. And if you don’t, then this quest becomes your responsibility too
