ISAR is actually formed from the first letters of the names Inam, Sha’ban, and Rehan. These letters were arranged to form the word “Isar” (meaning “selflessness” in Urdu), and in English, they stand for Intercultural Social and Research. From its very name—ISAR—it reflects the nature of its work.

JORLCS is a scholarly journal that focuses on the intersection of religion, literature, and cultural studies. It aims to explore the dynamic relationship between these three pivotal areas of human experience, shedding light on how religious traditions influence cultural expressions and literary works, while also examining the ways literature and culture reflect and shape religious practices, beliefs, and narratives.
The journal publishes original research, theoretical analyses, and critical reviews that offer insights into how religious contexts inform literary creations across different periods, genres, and cultures. It also emphasizes cultural studies as a means of understanding societal transformations influenced by religious ideologies, practices, and narratives.
